Sophia is a green oasis in the heart of a congested metropolis. The College has well-designed, airy buildings set around a beautiful central lawn, a terraced garden and a herbal garden. Everyone already knew that. But what most do not know is that it once used to be a palace. The campus and the land initially belonged to the East India Company and during the Independence Movement, it was given to a royal Parsi family in the 19th century. The King of Bhavnagar later handed the palace over to the European Missionary Nuns to start this educational institution. Interestingly, the college just celebrated its 75th Anniversary in 2016.
The Sophia canteen offers a variety of food, from Jain to non-veg. You name it. The prices are crazy affordable even though the college is located on the ultra expensive Pedder Road. Not to forget, Pappu (The Chaat Uncle) – From lip smacking paani puris to sinful sev puris, he’s mastered them all. A light lunch that’s sure to fill your stomach just enough for the next few lectures, the chaat counter is a treat to the students.
How can we talk about Sophia without talking about their annual inter-collegiate fest Kaleidoscope. Sophia’s very own college fest, where around 50 colleges participate from across the country every year and a footfall of almost 20,000 people. The single most unique thing about the fest is that it is completely and singlehandedly organised by women. Girl power amiright?!
There are quite a lot of places the students like to chill around the campus. The Marble Stairs is the best place to relax and has the greatest view of the Central Lawn. The lawn is located at the centre of the college with a lot of greenery making it a wonderful place to take a break post lectures. Plenty eateries too are available within a 200-meter radius of the college.

Her film resume is long enough to be the envy of any struggling starlet. With daily earnings that cross five digits, you could call her a true veteran of the film industry.
